Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo inspected ongoing drainage improvement and infrastructure development projects in Dawei Township on Sunday. They inspected drainage excavation works, culvert construction, and waterway improvement projects in various wards, aimed at improving water flow and reducing flooding.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of proper planning, accurate water-level assessments, and cooperation with local communities to ensure effective drainage systems. He also reviewed road and bridge construction projects, including a planned bridge connection near the port area and a completed four-lane concrete road section. He instructed officials to meet quality standards, remain durable in the long term and complete on schedule.

A HIGH-LEVEL Myanmar delegation led by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing left Nay Pyi Taw Airport by special aircraft yesterday morning to pay an official visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister of the Republic of India Shri Narendra Modi. The President-led delegation was seen off at the airport by Vice-President U Nyo Saw, Vice-President Nan Ni Ni Aye, Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw U Aung Lin Dwe, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, Union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, the commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command, and officials from the Indian Embassy and the Defence Attachés Office to Myanmar. The President is accompanied by Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Maung Swe, Dr Kan Zaw, U Min Naung and Dr Charlie Than, Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Dr Khin Naing Oo, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers and officials.The special aircraft carrying the high-level Myanmar delegation led by the President arrived at Gaya Airport in India. The President and his entourage were warmly welcomed by Bihar State Governor Lt-Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain and government officials, Myanmar Ambassador to India U Zaw Oo, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Zaw Moe Lwin, the Myanmar Consul-General and officials with the Guard of Honour. During the visit, the President of Myanmar will meet with the President of India and hold bilateral talks with the Prime Minister. Moreover, the President will receive Cabinet Ministers of India, Governors of the states and representatives from business organizations. Furthermore, the President will tour the projects of prominent infrastructure facilities. During the visit, the President will engage in a cordial and open exchange of views to foster multifaceted cooperation across the economic, religious, cultural, and social sectors, thereby strengthening ties between the governments and peoples of the two countries. — MNA/TTAgnlm
