The Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture offered souvenir keychains to arriving foreign tourists as a promotional gift at the Tourism Promotion Event at Yangon International Airport on 30 May.
This physical distribution of souvenir keychains featuring a QR code aims to effectively boost Myanmar’s tourism sector and provide easy access to travel information, allowing visitors to get scannable access to the ministry’s tourism portals, call centre (+95 9 881881222), emergency hotlines (1551) and travel updates. Providing 24-hour services for tourists, the ministry aims to promote Myanmar’s tourism destinations as secure for travellers.
Yangon Region Government’s Rakhine Ethnic Affairs Minister and officials of the ministry warmly welcomed the tourists arriving at Yangon International Airport and Mandalay International Airport, and souvenir keychains were distributed to visitors, hoping the gifts would serve as a tangible reminder of the visitors’ experience in Myanmar and inspire future visits. — ASH/KK
