A new China Southern Airlines service linking south China's Guangzhou, northwest China's Urumqi and Frankfurt of Germany began operations on Monday.

This marks the first direct international passenger air route from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to Germany. The route makes the regional capital Urumqi a stop on a twice-weekly intercontinental service to Frankfurt, with the Urumqi-Frankfurt leg taking about eight hours, the airline said.

Union Minister for Immigration and Population, U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, and region ministers, visited Basic Education and Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock High School No. 2 in Thaketa Township Monday morning to observe and encourage the field implementation of issuing Citizenship Scrutiny Cards and Unique Identification Numbers (UIDs) under the La Min Project for students aged 10 and above who had not yet obtained citizenship scrutiny cards.During the visit, the Union Minister and officials observed township health staff conducting blood type testing for students. They also reviewed the work of the township-level five-member committee responsible for verifying and processing applications, the issuance of citizenship scrutiny cards to students, and the collection of biographic and biometric data through the e-ID system for individuals who already possessed citizenship cards, enabling them to receive UIDs.Subsequently, the Union Minister and officials personally presented the citizenship scrutiny cards and UIDs completed on the same day under the La Min Project to individual student recipients. The Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, U San Oo, accompanied by responsible officials, visited the National Wood finished wood products factory in Dagon Myothit (East) Township Monday morning to inspect the production and export of finished wood products.During the visit, the Union Minister instructed factory officials to make effective use of available timber raw materials without waste, increase the production of value-added finished wood products, and work toward generating greater foreign exchange earnings for the country. The Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, U Myo Zaw Thein, met with 61 graduates who completed their studies in May 2026 at the two Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree Colleges (Yangon & Sagaing), held Monday morning at the meeting hall of the Union Minister’s Office, where he delivered an address.During the ceremony, Union Minister U Myo Zaw Thein warmly welcomed the graduates on behalf of the ministry. He stated that the ministry had already provided orientation and workplace-entry training to help newly recruited staff understand and comply with the ministry’s policies, objectives, goals, duties, and the responsibilities of the respective departments under its administration.The Union Minister further noted that the graduates had been trained and nurtured by the State to meet national needs. The Union Minister for Information, U Htein Lin, accompanied by responsible officials, inspected the state-owned newspaper printing facilities and MRTV in Yangon in the morning on June 1st.First, the Union Minister visited the Myanma Alinn printing press in Bahan Township, where he inspected the office building, the CTP room, the printing press, and staff housing facilities. He then inspected the printing press of the Kyemon newspaper, located on 43rd Street in Botahtaung Township.Afterward, the Union Minister and officials visited Myanmar Radio and Television-MRTV on Pyay Road. Currently, export and import licences from the Myawaddy border to Thailand are being issued. Most of the exports are agricultural products such as corn, avocado, betel nut, turmeric and onions.
