The opening ceremony of the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) Maintenance and Preservation Training Course, organized by the Union Election Commission, was held Tuesday morning at the Sinbyushin Hall, Ywadaw in Nay Pyi Taw.

At the ceremony, the UEC Chairman U Than Soe, stated that this training course is being conducted with the aim of equipping staff from various sub-commission offices with the necessary skills regarding Myanmar Electronic Voting Machines, enabling them to independently and continuously inspect, repair, and maintain the voting machines.

Subsequently, the UEC Chairman and members observed the instruction being delivered at the MEVM Maintenance and Preservation Training Course. The opening ceremony was attended by UEC members, responsible officials from the UEC office, and 100 trainees from regions, states and Union territory election sub-commission offices at various levels. The training course will be held from June 2 to June 26, it’s learnt.

Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee continued his visit to Kazakhstan. He said the trip had numerous achievements, including the signing of 43 memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements.He said direct flights between Hong Kong and Kazakhstan will be launched. Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in artificial intelligence and digital development as well as to promote digital infrastructure development.  The two countries agreed to expedite consultations on signing a comprehensive double taxation avoidance agreement and discussions on an investment protection agreement.mitv

The Union Minister for Immigration and Population, U Myint Kyaing, Tuesday morning visited and encouraged the implementation of the “La Min” project at the No. 4 Basic Education High School Branch (Myet To) in Pathein, Ayeyawady Region, where citizenship scrutiny cards and UID numbers were being issued to students aged 10 and above who had not yet received their citizenship cards.First, the Union Minister observed the activities carried out by township health staff, including blood type testing for the students, verification procedures in accordance with citizenship regulations, and the collection of biographic and biometric data under the e-ID system to issue both a citizenship scrutiny card and a unique UID simultaneously. He then presented the already-issued citizenship cards and UID numbers to the respective students and provided financial support and refreshments to the township office staff. Then, the Union Minister subsequently met with region, district, and township directors at the Ayeyawady Region Director’s Office, where he coordinated and addressed the necessary matters based on the presentations made by responsible officials, it’s learnt.mitv

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, U Myo Zaw Thein, along with relevant responsible officials, conducted field inspections of cooperative-based agricultural, livestock, and production activities, as well as rural development implementation status, in Meiktila and Yamethin districts, Mandalay Region Tuesday morning.First, the Union Minister and officials arrived at the Meiktila District Rural Development Department office and met with responsible officials. The regional directors of departments under the Ministry presented on their operational status, and the Union Minister provided necessary guidance and instructions.  Subsequently, the Union Minister and officials inspected the cooperatives-system dairy farming project implemented with funds from the Emerald Green Village Project in Magyipinpu  Village, Meiktila Township; met with and encouraged trainees at a basic sewing machine course being conducted at the village community hall; inspected the asphalt paving work on the Pyawkone Okpho inter-village road from the township bypass, undertaken by the Meiktila Township Rural Development Department; met with local farmers at the Nyaung Myint Village community hall in Meiktila Township to discuss necessary matters; made a field inspection of the ongoing concrete paving work on village roads in Pan Tin Village, Meiktila Township; and met with executives of the Shwe Moe Ngwe Moe Agricultural and General Cooperative Society, member farmers, and local residents in the paddy field of U Thar Maung, a cooperative farmer in Ingyingan (Main) Village, Yamethin Township.During these visits, the Union Minister provided necessary guidance and discussions, and coordinated to address the requests submitted by local farmers, it’s reported. mitv

The Union Minister for the Ministry of Transport and the ministry of Digital Development and Communications, U Mya Tun Oo, along with responsible officials, conducted inspections on June 1 and 2, 2026.The union minister and officials examined the ongoing upgrading works to allow higher-speed train operations on the Yangon-Pyay railway section in accordance with the President's directives; the repair works on Bridge No. 343 (Yanpay Creek Bridge), which had subsided due to flooding, on the Pyay-Aung Lan-Sat Thwa-Bagan railway line within Taungdwingyi Township; and the progress of joining 39-foot-long rail sections in groups of nine. First, on June 1, the Union Minister and officials inspected the stability of the railway tracks along the Yangon-Pyay line using the RBE train to assess readiness for higher-speed operations.Subsequently, the Union Minister and officials arrived at Letpadan Station, which is over 149 years old. He instructed that the historic station be restored without altering its original character. He also visited the Myanmar Railways clinic and the Letpadan Locomotive Shed. He then proceeded to the Project Clarification Hall for the reconstruction of Bridge No. 343 (Yanpay Creek Bridge), where he provided necessary guidance to responsible officials.On the morning of June 2, the Union Minister met with and addressed departmental staff under the Ministry at the Road Transport Administration Department's District Office (Pyay) traffic rules and road safety education hall, and provided cash assistance to the staff. Continuing, the union minister inspected the Pyay Diesel Locomotive Shed, Pyay Station, and the station park, giving necessary instructions.He then departed from Pyay Station on the RBE train, inspecting stations, bridges, and railway tracks along the Pyay-Yangon line.
