According to announcements from the respective airlines, flight services operating between Yangon, Myanmar, and Guangzhou, China, are set to be expanded in June, reaching up to 10 flights per week.
China Southern Airlines, which currently operates daily flights on the Guangzhou-Yangon route, will add new flights every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, starting from 15 June. Once these additions are in place, the total frequency for the Guangzhou-Yangon route will increase to 10 flights per week.
Furthermore, the locally-based Myanmar Airways International (MAI) has announced that it will upgrade its current Yangon-Guangzhou service, which currently operates four times a week, to daily direct flights starting from 30 June.
The travel industry notes that this expansion in flight schedules is expected to help improve travel and trade relations between Myanmar and China. — TWA/ZN
