An explosion at one of Russia’s largest petrochemical plants in Tatarstan on Tuesday killed two people and injured at least 72. The blast occurred at the synthetic rubber plant in the city of Nizhnekamsk, a key facility within Russia’s petrochemical sector. Dozens of firefighters were still battling the blaze at the facility, and the Plant owner said there had been no release of hazardous emissions threatening public health.
