Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, accompanied by officials, visited the Shan State Presiding Monks Training School in Ayetharyar Town, Taunggyi Township, on April 1 to donate funds for the reconstruction of the Sotujana monastery building, which was damaged by the Mandalay earthquake.

The Shan State Chief Minister and state ministers offered alms and offertories to the presiding Sayadaw. Chief Minister U Aung Aung and state ministers then handed over a donation of 100 million Kyats contributed by the Shan State Government to officials from the Board of Trustees, who received it and returned certificates of honor in appreciation.

Afterwards, they shared merits for the donations through a traditional water-pouring ceremony and toured the ongoing reconstruction of the Sotujana monastery building at the Shan State Presiding Monks Training School.

From there, the State Chief Minister and officials went to inspect the designated site for upgrading Aye NyeinThida Road in Ward No. (9), Ayetharyar Town, Taunggyi Township, from an earthen road to an asphalt road. An official from the Township Development Affairs Department provided a briefing on the project.
