The Ministry of Construction has announced that, starting from 1 April 2026, electric vehicles (EVs) will be required to pay road and bridge tolls.
This measure follows the expiry of the exemption period for road usage fees granted to electric vehicles and their related equipment, which ended on 31 March. Consequently, the Ministry of Construction, through its Department of Highways and Department of Bridges, will begin collecting usage fees from EVs travelling on major roads and bridges under its management.
Tolls will be charged according to designated vehicle categories and prescribed rates. — ASH/MKKS
