According to T-Pop Star Challenge Myanmar, auditions are now being accepted for Season 3 of the country’s largest and only Thai singing competition, featuring a grand prize of $3,200.
It is open to anyone aged 18 and older from across Myanmar. This year, the organizers have upgraded the ticket system to ensure a smoother registration and avoid booking errors. The event will also feature enhanced security and improved flow management.
Cash prizes and trophies include: Winner: $3,200 + trophy + special gifts from Gold Sponsors; first runner-up: $1,600; second runner-up: $1,000; third to seventh runner-ups: $400 each.
For the audition, applicants must submit a video clip of themselves singing a Thai song. The registration period is from 4 April to 7 May. The Top eight finalists will be announced on 23 May. Winners and 1st to 3rd Runner-ups from Season 1, as well as the eight finalists from Season 2, are not eligible.
The organizers will fully cover travel and accommodation expenses to Yangon for the eight selected semi-finalists. The official song list and YouTube channels for reference are available at www.tpopstar.com. Performances by the Top 8 will be judged by artists from Thailand. Details regarding the voting system will be announced on the official page, with online voting accounting for 10 per cent.
Organized by the Royal Thai Embassy, T-Pop Star Challenge Myanmar aims to promote the soft power of Thai music, increase interest in the Thai language, and strengthen the bilateral friendship. — MT/ZN
