Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said during a press in Canberra that Australia wants to see the Strait of Hormuz opened, adding that "lack of a resolution on the negotiations that took place on the weekend were disappointing". He urged all parties to return to dialogue and diplomacy.

He also stressed the need to reduce tensions in the region and encouraged a peaceful, negotiated solution.  He also highlighted that instability affects not just the region but the global economy.
