On the morning of Thingyan Akyat Day (April 15), Shan State Chief Minister U Sai Htein Soe, and his wife, the Speaker of State Hluttaw and his wife, the Chief Justice of the State High Court and his wife, the Commander of the East-Command and his wife, State Ministers and responsible officials went to the East-Command Sunflower Pavilion in Taunggyi.

They watched and encouraged performances by the East-Command Yein dance troupes, the Yein dance troupe of senior military officers' wives, the Yein dance troupes of the General Administration Department, famous vocalists, and Dancer dance troupes.

Afterwards, the State Chief Minister and his wife, and officials also participated in performances and presented cash of honour to the Yein dance troupes.

Similarly, on Thingyan Akyat Day at the pavilions of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, Industry, and Transportation located on Bogyoke Aung San Road near the Chinese temple in Taunggyi, the public is peacefully and joyfully celebrating by participating in the Walking Thingyan with water-play accompanied by music concerts. At the Satuditha charity feast pavilions, people are also taking part in the Thanaka Thingyan and enjoying htamanè, lahpet, and coffee Thingyan, it’s reported.
