Myanmar exports over 300 types of fisheries products to more than 40 countries, with authorities and exporters working together to ensure sustainable, market-responsive, and standards-compliant trade.The Department of Fisheries stated that over 10,500 metric tonnes of shrimp worth over US$33 million were shipped to international markets in the past financial year 2025-2026 (1 April-31 March).“Myanmar sent over 9,500 metric tonnes of shrimp by sea, while over 980 metric tonnes of shrimp were exported to neighbouring countries at the border, totalling over 10,580 tonnes worth over $33 million. The export volume of shrimp in 2025-2026 FY is up by over 1,430 tonnes compared to that of the corresponding period last year,” said an official of the Department of Fisheries.Myanmar exported over 460,000 metric tonnes of fisheries products, including fish and shrimp, in the last FY 2025-2026, bagging over $689 million.Myanmar’s fisheries products have been steadily flowing to Japan, the Middle East countries, Malaysia, Taiwan Province of China and Australia. The Myanmar Fisheries Federation and the Department of Fisheries are closely working together for seafood export promotion.Myanmar has been delivering over 300 types of fisheries products to over 40 countries.
