The opening ceremony of the Thazi 40 MW Solar Power Plant, constructed by Leader Power Co., Ltd. in Thazi Township, Meiktila District, Mandalay Region, and the Thapyaywa 40 MW Solar Power Plant, constructed by Hanzar Solar Energy Co., Ltd. in Meiktila Township, which were completed and implemented by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, was held on the morning of April 29.

The Union Minister for Electricity and Energy, U Ko Ko Lwin, attended the ceremony to offer congratulations and encouragement. The opening ceremony took place at the inaugural podium in front of the plants. The ribbon-cutting was performed by the Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung,Managing Director of the Electric Power Generation Enterprise under the Ministry of Electricity and Energy Dr. Win Myint, and a responsible official from Asia World Co., Ltd. Subsequently, the Union Minister unveiled the commemorative plaque by pressing the button and sprinkled scented water on the plaque. The Union Minister and officials then toured the plant's control room and took a group commemorative photo.

In his opening speech, the Union Minister acknowledged all the leading individuals from Asia World Co., Ltd., department heads, and employees who diligently and willingly worked on the project to bring the solar projects to fruition.

He stated that the two completed projects will be able to generate a total of 202 million kilowatt-hours per year and distribute electricity to approximately 130,000 households. He also mentioned that an ongoing 210 MW solar power plant will be completed soon. He assured that the Ministry of Electricity and Energy would provide necessary support to expedite the completion of the plant.

Following this, the Mandalay Region Chief Minister delivered a speech, and an official from the plant expressed words of gratitude. Subsequently, the Union Minister, the Chief Minister and relevant responsible officials watched documentary movies about the construction of the plants, toured the power plant area, and inspected the installation status of the solar panels from various vantage points.

Afterwards, the Union Minister, the Chief Minister, and officials arrived at the construction site of the additional 210 MW Solar Power Plant being implemented by Shwe Energy Company Limited, where they toured and inspected the construction progress of the project.
