The world’s largest methanol dual-fuel container ship was completed in Nantong, China on Friday, marking a major milestone in green shipbuilding for ultra-large vessels.

Named as OOCL Wisdom, this 399.99-meter long vessel is the first in a seven-ship series of China, using methanol to slash CO2 emissions by roughly 150,000 tons annually. Besides, this vessel represents a crucial step in China’s maritime industry transition towards low-carbon transportation, following a series of similar methanol-fueled ships already in operation.
