Everybody, Mingalaba!
I would like to extend my greetings and wish all esteemed people and national brethren every blessing. I am Min Tun Lwin, General Secretary of the Mon Development Party. I will present the policies and work procedures of the Mon Development Party.
The Mon Development Party was formed as a party representing Mon ethnic people with its activities in Kayin State under the Political Parties Registration Law enacted in 2023. Our party was allowed to register as a political party on 1 April 2024. As it is an initial period of the party, just three candidates of our Mon Development Party will compete in the relevant constituencies in Kayin State in the multiparty democratic general election to be held on 28 December.
As it is the most important for the voters, people who will select the candidates for political parties to be able to serve the interests of the State and the people in accordance with the political stance, policies and work procedures, I would like to present a summary of political visions, policies and work procedures of our party to the people.
The Mon Development Party is a party representing ethnic people. Although it is a small party with activities only in Kayin State, we believe that our party will have the opportunities to participate in the important role of the political process, which will build a Union with diversity based on democracy and a federal system that all the people long for.
Esteemed people and national brethren,
At present, when our country faces political crises and conflicts, everyone expresses different opinions and responses to the upcoming election. Our Mon Development Party will seek the best way for the State and the people to overcome political challenges.
As the policy of our Mon Development Party, we will implement
To work towards strengthening a multiparty democratic system and to build a democratic nation grounded in justice, freedom and equality, in line with universal principles.
To prioritize overall development of the region and the entire nation as well.
To establish a human society in which every citizen will enjoy the full ethnic rights, citizen rights and democratic rights, in addition to recognizing their own identity and character of each ethnic group.
To enable the entire ethnic people to have human rights fully and enjoy a free style of social life.
We will steadfastly serve the missions and visions to initiate anti-corruption and uphold the rule of law to the full capacity.
Although our Mon Development Party carries out its activities in Kayin State, we will formulate and implement the policies and work procedures in conformity with everything by emphasizing the interest of the entire Union.
Our party will participate in the implementation of all sectors, including politics, economy and social activities as much as possible for the sake of the State and the people.
In the political sector, we will prioritize the points to build a Union based on democracy and a federal system while protecting the rights of the minorities.
We will use different ways and means to develop the economic, education and healthcare sectors in addition to the women and youth sector. Moreover, we will focus on conservation of the natural environment, prevention of natural disasters, efforts to provide help and rescue, as well as rehabilitation measures.
Especially, our Mon Development Party, being an ethnic party, will emphasize uplifting and protecting the ethnic rights by formulating necessary laws and rules and encourage the preservation of customs and traditions of ethnic.
Finally, I would like to state that the Mon Development Party will work together with ethnic nationalities across the country to achieve nationwide peace and to build a Union based on democracy and a federal system, for the benefit of the Mon people living throughout Myanmar as well as all ethnic citizens. With the support of voters and the collective efforts of relevant groups, we will continue to implement the policy programmes presented above. Whatever the outcome of the election may be, the Mon Development Party will continue to uphold its policies and programmes and work for the interests of the people, the region and the nation.
No matter what challenges or difficulties arise, I would like to urge all citizens and national brethren to support the Mon Development Party, which will do its utmost to serve the well-being of the people. I also wish that all citizens’ hopes and aspirations may be fully realized.

I am U Myo Min Tun (aka) Percy Pyi Hein. I am Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Party for People. I am a candidate to compete in the election in the Mingaladon Township constituency of Yangon Region for the Pyithu Hluttaw election. In the election to be held in December 2025, the Party for People will compete in the constituencies for the Pyithu Hluttaw in Mingaladon Township, Shwepyitha Township and Kyimyindine Township.
Esteemed people,
As the Party for People, we want the opportunity to address the issues we have presented to the people. Within the nation, we aim to ensure:
* Restoring durable peace, the rule of law, and the prevalence of law and order
* Food security
* Healthcare
* Education
* Agriculture, livestock, and business activities. We seek the chance to implement these areas in the best possible way.
The world has moved beyond the computer and Internet eras and has now entered the age of AI. Daily life shows robots, driverless cars, electric vehicles replacing the use of diesel and petrol, space travel businesses, expansion into new space sectors, powerful military weapons, and the creation of advanced arms and technology. Looking at the progress of powerful nations and the neighbouring countries, these achievements are the result of overcoming internal conflicts among citizens and controlling the misuse of weapons.
The time has come for our country to be peaceful and prosperous. If the long-standing mistrust and conflicts among ethnic groups, which have lasted over 70 years, continue, neither the nation nor the lives of its people will ever progress. It is time to unclench the fists that have held onto hostility among ethnic brethren. To do this, hearts must be open and willing to reconcile. Without peace, the nation cannot be built. Because of conflicts between ethnic communities, the country has suffered, and the people have endured hardships. The only path to peace is through the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA). By following the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement framework, we hope to allow the fruits of peace to flourish.

Regarding the education sector, nearly all citizens must become literate. Generally, children of all school-age groups should have access to schooling, and every young person must gain literacy. Only when young people are educated will they acquire knowledge and the ability to critically evaluate right and wrong. Currently, obstacles such as ongoing conflicts, unstable administration, and widespread armed insurgency prevent many young people from accessing education. Peace is therefore essential for youth to study.
As a second important measure, equally important is ensuring that young people have easy access to learning opportunities. Every family should be able to manage its finances and prioritize the education of their children. On the other hand, the high costs of private schools should be reduced, and government schools must provide opportunities for all youth to learn. Teacher quality and skills must be improved, and knowledgeable professionals, writers, scholars, and skilled experts from wards and villages should be allowed to provide part-time instruction in government schools. Young people are often deprived of knowledge and critical thinking due to personal cult and extreme reliance, excessive loyalty to political ideologies, armed terrorism, misguided beliefs or armed insurgency rather than acting for the purpose of defending of the country. To ensure youth acquire knowledge and the ability to distinguish right from wrong, education must begin at an early age. Schools and teachers must instil love for the nation and a sense of responsibility in students. The Party for People seeks the opportunity to carry out these responsibilities in education.

The country is rich in natural resources and has fertile land suitable for productive agriculture. The State must actively support the cultivation of crops and other agricultural products. During the transition from manual farming to mechanized agriculture, farmers face major challenges, such as high prices for equipment and fuel. The government must assist those working in agriculture. Essential machinery, fuel, and agricultural inputs for agricultural tasks should be sold at affordable prices to the farmers. Manufacturing of agricultural tools and inputs should be controlled and provided by the government rather than left to private businesses. Currently, farmers are facing hardships and challenges over use of farming equipment, fuel, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, and other support materials as unscrupulous businesspersons in the private sector monopolize the distribution and sales of these inputs and equipment as well as speculating. If farmers cannot cultivate their land, the nation’s people will face food shortages. Therefore, the government must take responsibility for properly managing and supporting agricultural enterprises.

The country’s growing population and the expansion of urban and rural areas are also causing the loss of farmlands and croplands. Greedy business operators contribute to this loss by illegally selling plots of their farmland, destroying it without permission, or using it for other purposes causing loss of farmlands and croplands without operating the agricultural tasks. Although the government has issued laws and taken action, some unscrupulous businesspeople still fail to comply with the relevant laws and directives. As such, strong and effective laws must be enacted to prevent the loss of farmland. The Party for People seeks the opportunity to take action to protect agricultural land.

It is a dangerous problem that today, some youth go abroad illegally. Hence, it is necessary to create proper employment opportunities for youth at home to live in the mother land.
As Myanmar is an agricultural and livestock-producing country, the government must provide support to make farming and breeding easy and efficient. During the time of the State Administration Council, our party is particularly pleased with one initiative: integrating industrial, agricultural and livestock schools with the basic education high schools. This is a highly commendable step. Previously, if young students failed grades 8, 9, or 10, they did not know what path to follow for their careers. By combining the basic education high schools with industrial, agricultural and livestock schools, even students who do not advance academically can still learn farming and breeding skills. This equips them to support their own livelihoods, help their families, and become productive members of society, contributing to the nation. If so, such a strata of population will come out. Young people in native areas will be able to engage in agricultural and livestock work within the country without needing to go abroad. Therefore, the government needs to establish breeding zones and agricultural zones in every township. When setting up these zones, there must also be proper regulations to prevent monopolization or control by large-scale private business operators.
Thus, The Party for People seeks the opportunity to carry out these responsibilities for the above-mentioned measures.

Esteemed people who are the actual owners of the sovereignty of the State,
First of all, I wish all voters good health, peace of mind, and fulfilment. I am U Ko Ko Gyi, Chairman of the People’s Party. The establishment of our party was based on student leaders from the ’88 generation, as well as experienced professionals and leaders from various fields. The upcoming election, which we will soon participate in, is not like ordinary elections held under normal circumstances. Therefore, it is extremely important to prioritize and carefully consider which matters we should focus on during the election.
Our party will prioritize and actively work for peace, equality, the rule of law, national economic development, and the reconstruction and reunification of the country. Although we refer to them as priority programmes, they are not intended to be carried out one by one; rather, all available resources will be pooled together and implemented simultaneously. It is extremely difficult to achieve development without peace and the rule of law. Extremism tends to grow during periods of intense conflict, but we must keep our vision for the reconstruction and reunification of the nation clear and unwavering. Therefore, we will focus on encouraging families who have been separated for various reasons to come together again, participating in reform and reconstruction efforts through peaceful political means. We will coordinate to implement a policy to ensure that people who have had to flee from conflicts can return safely to their homes, engage in rehabilitation, resume economic activities, and regain access to education, healthcare, and social services.
We will also take action to ensure the success of peace and ceasefire negotiations. Once peace is achieved, it will also help alleviate concerns related to the People’s Military Service Law. We will strive to conduct inspections and oversight to ensure that the People’s Military Service Law is implemented properly and in accordance with the law. In reality, the root cause of armed conflict is inequality. We will also do our utmost to carry out the necessary constitutional amendments to enable all ethnic groups to achieve equality.
Regarding the rule of law, anti-drug efforts form a fundamental part of reducing crime. The spread and use of drugs among young people also harms the country’s human resources, which is why anti-drug measures will be carried out with priority. The rule of law is not only a basic requirement for building a democratic nation but also extremely important for ensuring the safety and security of citizens in their daily lives. When we talk about the rule of law, the role of civil servants is crucial. Efforts will be made to ensure that civil servants receive fair salaries and benefits that match basic living costs, while also implementing reforms to make the civil service system more efficient, capable, and streamlined. The public administration system will also be modernized to achieve a timely and effective e-government framework. To ensure the emergence of the appropriate laws, rules, regulations, and directives will be carefully reviewed, with necessary amendments, repeals, and new enactments carried out thoughtfully and systematically.
Regarding national economic development, the electricity and energy sectors are fundamental necessities. Efforts will be made to ensure a reliable electricity supply and a secure energy sector. As an agriculture-based country, support will be provided to help farmers remain debt-free, access crop-loan and credit guarantee systems, obtain seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, fuel, and agricultural water, and protect their crops from exploitative middlemen. Assistance will also be given to produce higher-value agricultural products. Alongside the agriculture sector, support will be extended to develop livestock and aquatic products industries by providing technology, capital, and market connections. To link agricultural and industrial products to markets, necessary production routes, Union highways, and road networks will be upgraded, constructed, and maintained to ensure safe and smooth transport for trade.
With the aim of emergencing job opportunities for youth, we will work to support the youth to have vocational training courses so as to seek job opportunities, invite foreign investments as a priority to create employment opportunities, provide legal protection for the youths who will work abroad, and arrange recruitment of skilled workers to earn revenue for the State.
Infrastructure development is extremely important for national economic growth. Therefore, efforts will be made to systematically develop roads, bridges, housing, and the real estate market. Policies will also be coordinated and implemented to promote development in sectors such as tourism, education, healthcare services, and banking. Development banks for each sector will be properly established and strengthened to support growth. Accurate statistical data and clearly defined standards for each sector will be emphasized, ensuring that development plans are based on reliable figures. Support will also be provided to accelerate the transformation of the digital economy for greater efficiency and effectiveness. One of the main challenges for domestic businesses to compete with foreign enterprises is high bank interest rates. Tax collection systems will be simplified, fair, and transparent, avoiding corruption while ensuring a broad and reliable revenue system. The tax system should not be burdens for the taxpayers. If so, the proper tax system will emerge. Economic stimulus plans will be implemented to revive businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Excessive regulations will be eased wherever possible to improve efficiency. Support will be extended to strengthen operations of small, medium, and innovative enterprises, facilitating easy access to financial markets and encouraging the emergence of public companies. Ultimately, national development is fundamentally tied to the development of its citizens. It is the responsibility of the state to ensure that citizens are healthy, capable, and intelligent.
We will make strenuous efforts to develop an education system that ensures every citizen can at least complete the middle school education level while fostering critical thinking and analytical skills in the education system. According to the United Nations Population Fund’s 2025 estimates, the global average life expectancy at birth is 73.5 years, whereas Myanmar’s average life expectancy is only 67.3 years, ranking 163rd out of 201 countries. Therefore, strict monitoring and control will be applied to the use of hazardous substances, toxic chemicals, and harmful drugs to ensure safety in food, medicine, and drinking water for the people. We will make efforts to take measures so as to reduce air pollution we face on a daily basis so that citizens can have access to cleaner, healthier air in their daily lives.
It is necessary to rebuild the nation based on peace, equality, the rule of law, and development, while respecting and valuing the foundations of national culture. In this process of nation-building endeavours, neighbouring countries, regional states, and the international community will also cooperate peacefully and work together for mutual benefit.

Our People’s Party is a party firmly committed to building a new nation based on democracy and a federal system, grounded in universal principles of freedom, justice, and equality. The upcoming election, held under these extraordinary circumstances, is more important than regular elections. It is a chance to choose the leadership that can resolve current conflicts, ease problems related to food, clothing, and living, and guide the country over the next five years. Our party has been officially established since 2010 with registration number 17 to work toward a multiparty democratic system. It participated in the 2010 and 2015 elections, and in 2023, the party continued its registration under number 44. In the upcoming December 2025 elections, the party will contest in constituencies in Insein and Twantay districts for the Pyithu Hluttaw and Region/State Hluttaw elections, as well as the constituency in Htantabin Township for the Pyithu Hluttaw election.

On 8 March 2010, with the enactment of the Union Election Commission Law, the Political Parties Registration Law, and the Hluttaw Election Law, the 88 Generation Student Youths (Union of Myanmar) was established as a political party. Our party has adopted the work plans to ensure the continuous and independent development of systems that align with modern times, including a political system compatible with democracy, an economic system compatible with a market economy, a legislative system that benefits both the state and the people, an administrative system where the public has the right to vote, an independent and just judicial system, an education system capable of competing internationally, a comprehensive healthcare system, an equitable land system, a financial system recognized by international monetary institutions, and systems that can prevent and protect against natural disasters, epidemics, and other hazards. We also plan to prioritize the ongoing protection of citizens’ freedoms by supporting the establishment of organizations related to the languages, literature, and cultures of ethnic groups; organizations associated with communities and social classes; organizations involved in social affairs; religious organizations; economic organizations; and sports organizations.

Our party has established these principles: 1. When handling matters of the state, citizens, and the party, human dignity must not be violated, and the morality of the public must not be harmed. 2. The cultural traditions and heritage of the state and its citizens should be preserved while fully exercising democratic rights and fundamental human rights, ensuring the peaceful development of the nation. 3. Opposition will be maintained against chauvinism, unrest, cults of personality, factionalism, terrorism, extremist racial ideologies, and extremist religious ideologies, while following a political approach that prioritizes the interests of the state and its citizens. 4. The party will uphold a path to maintain the country’s honour as a peaceful nation where ethnic groups coexist harmoniously and where the characteristics of a genuine multiparty democratic system and market economy remain permanently alive and active.

Every party member their code of conduct: being loyal to the State, its citizens, and the party; protecting and safeguarding the nation’s independence and sovereignty; maintaining and defending the long-term unity and harmony of all ethnic groups within the Union; promoting and safeguarding citizens’ fundamental human rights and democratic freedoms; fostering and protecting a spirit of nationalism that supports the interests of the State, all ethnicities, religions, and the nation; preserving Myanmar’s cultural traditions and heritage; and faithfully practicing and adhering to democratic principles.

Our party flag features a yellow peacock and 14 white stars on a red background. In the centre of the flag is a peacock poised to leap with full energy, and above and below the peacock are rows of seven equal-sized white stars. The red background symbolizes courage and determination, while the 14 white stars represent the union of all ethnic groups living together in harmony in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The action of the peacock jumping to attack symbolizes the party’s readiness, if necessary, to risk even life itself in defending the interests of the State and its citizens, and to counter and eliminate any actions that threaten or harm the nation, its people, democracy, human rights, or the coexistence of different ethnicities, religions, and beliefs.

Our party was established to actively work toward national restoration, to ensure that every citizen can equally and freely participate in the national political sphere, to facilitate a peaceful democratic transformation, to create a society in which every citizen enjoys full human and democratic rights, to promote a well-functioning market economy by removing general obstacles and interference, and to enable Myanmar to participate honorably and effectively in the international community. Through the formation and activities of the 88 Generation Student Youths (Union of Myanmar) Party, we are committed to striving with all our efforts for the benefit of Myanmar and its citizens, to preserve and enhance Myanmar’s dignity, and to ensure a way of life grounded in democracy and full human rights.

Esteemed people,
I am U Aye Lwin, a student leader and Chairman of the Union of Myanmar Federation of National Politics Party. On my part, I would like to extend my respectful greetings and wish a peaceful and auspicious evening to all voters and parents.
Action will be taken with primary consideration for preventing harm to the Union’s interests. Those who, with malicious intent, incite foreign interference and blockages everywhere with a mindset of opposition, as well as extremists and saboteurs operating inside and outside the country – on land and underground – threatening national and union unity through acts of betrayal, will be countered and prevented based on the spirit of the Union and national solidarity.
Our party was established by national political strengths under the leadership of 88 generation students on 23 July 2007 at building 03-3 of building F at Pearl Condominium on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road in Bahan Township of Yangon Region.
Our party was formed against the backdrop of the National Movements opposing economic sanctions (2007), the National Movement for the emergence of the Constitution (2007), and the National Movement for Democratic Transformation (2009). It has continuously worked firmly on the path of national restoration to establish a ‘new national political sphere’ in which all ethnic peoples and citizens have the right to participate.

The party practises nationalism in accordance with democratic principles. Conversely, democratic principles are also practised in accordance with independent nationalism.
Any actions, whether domestic or foreign, that undermine the morals, rights, property rights, or interests of citizens are opposed.

I will continue my presentation on the prioritized works of the party.
We will work to rapidly establish Myanmar as a Union based on democracy and a federal system, amend the constitution, bring an end to internal armed conflicts, achieve durable peace across the country, and ensure that Myanmar’s ethnic groups continue to survive and thrive without extinction.
We will work to modernize the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the State, as well as political, economic, social, and media sectors. We will fulfil the basic needs of citizens, access to housing, farmland, and other business-use land, and transparent, clear laws for alternative uses of agricultural land. We will provide full loans based on the actual cultivated acreage, access to credit for purchasing agricultural machinery, and strive for nationwide unrestricted development while reducing poverty.
We will implement a union-level funding system, state and regional-level funding systems, and a system that reflects the will of the people. We will also establish revenue systems supported by international organizations and ensure that the administrative and legislative powers of states and regions are exercised in accordance with a union based on democracy and a federal structure.
A fund-raising system will be established to ensure the timely and continuous execution of rescue, relief, and rehabilitation activities for citizens facing natural disasters, and international organizations’ development and humanitarian assistance will be utilized transparently and visibly.
Detailed policies will be formulated and implemented to ensure that people from all social classes can fully benefit from the opportunities created under the multiparty democratic system and the market economy.
Efforts will be made to ensure good transportation connectivity without urban-rural disparities, adequate access to electricity, sufficient clean drinking water, adequate irrigation for farming, and the expansion and demarcation of irrigated agricultural land.
Efforts will be made to enable students and youth, farmers, workers, government employees, retirees, and professional and intellectual associations to freely organize and operate, and to secure office buildings and land for their activities.
Legal frameworks and measures will be developed to reduce centralization of power and to combat corruption.

Measures will be taken to protect and safeguard the human rights, democratic rights, freedoms, property rights, and entitlements of the public, ensuring that none of them are infringed upon.
Within the judicial system, every citizen will be protected to ensure that they can freely exercise, in accordance with the law, their rights to file cases, access remedies, seek public redress, and claim inheritance, among other legal entitlements.
We will adopt and implement international policies of peaceful coexistence, along with an independent, active, and non-aligned foreign policy. Myanmar will uphold global peace and friendly relations with other countries, will not initiate military attacks against any nation, and will not allow any foreign troops to be stationed within its territory.

The flag has a red background, with a white circle in the centre. Inside the circle is a green peacock, and above and below the peacock are seven white stars arranged in rows. This flag is designated as the party commemorative flag.
The red symbol represents courage and bravery. The white circular background in the centre signifies purity. The 14 equally sized white stars represent the unity and harmonious coexistence of the diverse ethnic groups in the Union of Myanmar. The green peacock symbolizes Myanmar as a whole, representing all ethnic groups together, and embodies the idea of prosperity, enlightenment through knowledge, and abundance in rice, water, gold, silver, and other resources.

First of all, I would like to extend my greetings by wishing you all good health, happiness, and peace.
I am U Thant Zaw, Chairman of the National Interest Development Party (NIDP – Central). It is a party based in Mon State.
The multiparty democratic general election for the third Hluttaw will be held soon. How important is the correctness of voters’ decisions? How deeply will the election reflect the nation’s reform, development, and future progress?
Today, our country is facing tremendous pressure from the international community.
Due to political instability, there are widespread concerns about the nation’s economy, social situation, and security.
People are also suffering from the impacts of inflation and rising commodity prices.
In addition, foreign interference has led to incidents that have affected the country’s sovereignty.
Esteemed people,
The fundamental principle of our National Interest Development Party (NIDP) is to stand clearly and firmly for the interests of all ethnic groups, the people, and the national interest of the State.
In terms of policy, we will cooperate with any political party or organization that shares the same fundamental principles.
We will focus on making efforts to ensure equal rights among all ethnic nationalities and to resolve the political and social conflicts.
We will nurture the people to forge the national spirit, the patriotism and the keenness to defend and protect the State based on the national interest correctly without leading to extremism.
Ethnic Sector
We aim to eliminate racism and localism so that Myanmar becomes the one and only country for all 135 ethnic groups, united by common goals, equal development, mutual respect and affection, and a state of peace free from suspicion.
Education and Health Sectors
We recognize public health as a fundamental right of the people.
Every person must have equal access to healthcare services.
Plans have been adopted to build more hospitals and clinics in rural areas and regions with hardships.
We will strive to upgrade the general hospitals and rural health centres for the people.
We will distribute medicines and deploy medical doctors systematically.
Everyone must have access to good healthcare services with affordable and guaranteed health services.
The education sector is a foundation for the development of the State.
Every citizen will have equal access to education, and we will support free education at least at the primary and basic levels.
We will directly provide essential school supplies to students from rural areas to not face difficulties.
We will expand technical, university, and vocational training programmes.
Legislative and Judicial Sectors
It is necessary to enact laws that support national economic development and ensure fair penalties for crime reduction. We will work to ensure that everyone receives equal protection under the law and put an end to actions that abuse power.
Administrative Sector
It is necessary to form a strong government composed of decision-makers who can solve problems, set sound policies, and take responsibility. Not only the Union government, but also regional and state governments and their members, should be composed of highly capable individuals with a patriotic spirit.
Economic Sector
We will focus on improving the welfare of families at the grassroots level. In addition, we will work to increase individual incomes, create job opportunities, and promote the development of markets, technology, and industrial enterprises.
Farmers’ Sector
We will provide farmers with the essential support they need, including agricultural loans, fertilizer supplies, timely access to farming technology, and opportunities to sell their crops in the market.
Workers’ Sector
Workers are a fundamental force contributing to national development and construction.
We will strive to ensure that workers fully enjoy their rights.
Fair wages, working hours, and leave entitlements will be implemented according to international standards under labour laws.
We will also ensure that workers working abroad receive legal protection from their home country.
For workers’ families, we will expand and establish hospitals and clinics to provide social security and healthcare services.
International Relations
In our foreign policy, we will continue to uphold the long-standing approach of being independent, active, and non-aligned. Following the five principles of peaceful coexistence, we will foster friendly relations with regional and neighbouring countries and actively participate in international organizations.
New Generation Youth Sector
It is especially important to cultivate young people who are well-educated, practically skilled, and possess an international perspective.

Phase I of the multiparty democratic general election 2025 will be held on 28 December.
Those who love and cherish the democratic system support the establishment of multiple political parties and their participation in elections under a multiparty system. In addition, it is a long-standing tradition for citizens casting votes to give their ballots to the political parties they truly favour.
Some may say that nothing happens if a single vote is not cast, but when many abstain, democracy cannot be complete and fully effective. Only when all eligible voters exercise their right to vote can democracy be truly strong and vibrant.
The term “Democratic” refers to those who believe in democracy. By calling it the “Democratic Party,” it signifies a political party formed by uniting people who trust in democracy, representing the strength of democratic belief.
The Democratic Party leads efforts to ensure that the people of Myanmar can fully enjoy democratic rights and to promote the flourishing and development of democracy.
Democracy refers to a system in which the authority of governance in a country derives from the people and is exercised on their behalf.
In the democratic system that the Democratic Party believes in, it aims to ensure that the universal principles of justice, freedom, and equality are upheld and practised. It seeks to enable citizens to fully enjoy fundamental freedoms and rights, including political freedom, economic freedom, judicial independence, the ability to think and plan freely, freedom of speech and assembly, and the freedom to form social organizations.
Promoting reconciliation and mutual understanding among the nation’s citizens is essential for the country’s development. The Democratic Party places great importance on this principle because it truly supports democracy, peace, and national unity. It is committed to practising the approach emphasized by U Nu, the leader of the Democracy and Peace Party, of “forgiving past grievances and resolving conflicts” to achieve these goals.
Today, Myanmar is experiencing deep divisions among its citizens, making it crucial to undertake responsibilities that require the participation of the entire nation. To ensure the success of these efforts, it is especially necessary to create a peaceful and stable environment that allows national reconciliation to take root. Guided by this need, the focus must be on looking forward toward a new era rather than dwelling on past conflicts, to advance the country along the path of development.
It is also a time when everyone must cultivate a sense of family spirit, recognizing that “we are members of a single nation,” and to embrace the belief that “we all are citizens of Myanmar,” so that the entire nation can work together in unity and cooperation.
The Democratic Party will focus on a long-term, sustainable education system and implement plans accordingly. At a minimum, it will legislate and ensure that secondary education is freely accessible to all. To modernize and strengthen the Union of Myanmar’s education system, the party will send more students abroad for further study and invite international experts to provide training.
Universities, colleges, and agricultural and technical schools will be upgraded and expanded to align with global educational standards. Moreover, the party will consistently support teaching skills and technical knowledge to produce skilled workers who can compete in the international labour market, enabling Myanmar workers to participate effectively and successfully on the global stage.
The Union of Myanmar’s healthcare system will be developed to meet modern standards and reach international levels. Plans will be implemented with a focus on ensuring that everyone has access to free medical treatment. Public health initiatives will combine Western medical practices with traditional medicine to create a comprehensive healthcare system.
Basic and secondary school curricula will include public health education, and public health awareness programmes will be carried out using television, radio, newspapers, journals, and social media and internet technologies.
The Democratic Party believes that all citizens of the Union of Myanmar should equally enjoy the right to protection and care within society. In particular, children and the elderly are entitled to special protection by the state. Efforts will be made to ensure that the disabled, disadvantaged, chronically ill, and patients receive at least free medical treatment and preventive care. For the homeless and destitute, temporary food, shelter, and affordable housing will be provided through national social welfare programmes. Social security measures will also be implemented for retired military personnel and elderly pensioners, allowing them to live comfortably and with dignity.
Farmers and other land-based livelihood workers, including those who cultivate their own land, will be granted rights such as land transfer, inheritance, and the right to sell their produce.
In line with democratic principles, farmers will also be allowed to freely form associations, enabling them to protect their rights, participate in joint initiatives to improve their living standards, and work together for mutual benefit.
The Tatmadaw establishment is an indispensable requirement for the formation of the Union and for the defence of the nation.
According to the historical tradition of the development of the Union of Myanmar, Tatmadaw has played a particularly significant role. It is especially necessary to preserve this unique historical tradition. It is important to continue the legacy of Tatmadaw established by General Aung San, who was both a national leader and the “father” of Tatmadaw. Tatmadaw, composed of the nation’s most loyal and virtuous sons, must continue to be a people’s army and a patriotic force, safeguarding the nation and its citizens from dangers and threats while maintaining its honourable traditions. Aligned with the nation’s needs and financial resources, Tatmadaw should remain strong, modern, and capable, with advanced military and combat capabilities, evolving as a contemporary and highly developed armed force.
Former Prime Minister U Nu, as a leader, participated in formulating and implementing the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and, as a frontline leader, contributed to uniting non-aligned countries. Because of these roles, he became widely known, respected, and admired among the nations of the world.
Every country must pursue its national interests while maintaining friendly relations with the international community. On that basis, foreign policy should always be formulated and implemented in accordance with the following fundamental principles, ensuring that the nation’s sovereignty and dignity are not compromised.
(a) As a member of the United Nations, we will foster friendly and proper relations with all countries of the world in accordance with the basic principles of the UN and the norms of international relations that all nations are required to observe.
(b) We will adhere to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence — mutual respect for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other’s internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence.
(c) In international affairs, we will stand independently, actively, and correctly, without acting against our own national interests.
(d) Giving priority to the interests and benefits of the State, we will cooperate with international organizations whose objectives align with our own policies and goals.
Vision of the Democratic Party
In striving to build a new Union of Myanmar, our party aims to:
* Ensure that every citizen of the Union enjoys democratic freedoms and fundamental human rights equally and in accordance with the law;
* Establish a peaceful and prosperous Union;

Esteemed ethnic national brethren of the Union, I would first like to extend my best wishes for complete and all-round prosperity and auspiciousness.
I am Thiri Pyanchi Sai Aik Pao, Chairman of the Shan and Nationalities Democratic Party (SNDP).
Our Shan and Nationalities Democratic Party (SNDP) was granted permission to form the party on 23 June 2023, with party registration number 28/2023. I would first like to explain the purpose of establishing this new party.
In 2010, the former White Tiger Party, established to promote Shan national affairs, was officially named the Shan Nationalities Democratic Party. In the 2010 general election, the party won 58 seats in Hluttaw, with five members appointed as State Ministers and one as a Deputy Minister. However, it was unable to bring about the level of national development and transformation that had been hoped for. To achieve genuine progress and change for the country, it is essential to establish a strong political party. Only then can effective efforts be made to ensure the nation’s development. Therefore, the Shan and Nationalities Democratic Party (SNDP) was founded to represent not only the 135 national races but also all citizens of the country.

Esteemed ethnic national brethren of the Union,
In addition to internal armed conflicts, the country is also suffering severely from natural disasters and economic hardships. At the same time, it is facing the impacts and pressures of economic sanctions imposed by foreign countries. To overcome these various challenges, our party will give priority to ensuring regional stability and the rule of law, while also striving for the lifting of international sanctions. Only then will foreign investments begin to flow back into the country, allowing social and economic sectors to recover and move forward once again.

Esteemed ethnic national brethren of the Union,
Today’s many young people have hopes of going abroad to work for the sake of their education and their families. When foreign investments begin to flow back into the country and the nation’s socioeconomic situation improves, more job opportunities will emerge. At that point, the livelihoods, employment prospects, and confidence of young people can be secured, preventing the loss and outflow of human resources. Currently, many youths are leaving the country illegally in search of jobs abroad, facing high expenses and numerous dangers along the way. To prevent such suffering, the establishment of overseas employment agencies that can officially send workers abroad will be encouraged. Through this process, the State will also gain legitimate tax revenues, workplaces will be free from exploitation, and young people will be able to earn a living with security and peace of mind.

Esteemed ethnic national brethren of the Union,
Only by systematically reducing the difficulties in basic living conditions and the rising commodity prices will the people be able to live comfortably. Our party aims to support workers in industrial zones and private companies with low wages, government employees, and youths and families who have migrated for various reasons, by promoting low-cost dormitory and rental housing systems. In addition, to help revive economic enterprises, our party plans to provide special low-interest loans and supply raw materials at reasonable prices to ensure sustainable business recovery and improvement of people’s livelihoods.
Only when the authorities manage sales of basic foodstuffs such as rice, cooking oil, salt, chillies and onions at the cheapest prices with the best assessment will the people be comfortable with food supply.

Esteemed ethnic national brethren of the Union,
To ensure national economic growth and improve the livelihoods of the people, it is essential to create more job opportunities, and border trade plays a vital role in achieving this goal. Our party aims to establish a new border trade route with Thailand in the peaceful and stable southern Shan State. If such a trade route can be developed, it will not only benefit Shan State but also help stabilize commodity prices across the entire country. Moreover, it will create numerous employment opportunities and make a significant contribution to strengthening the national economy.

Esteemed ethnic national brethren of the Union,
If the authorities fulfil the requirements of heavy machinery in the region in the agriculture sector, local farmers will have increased income and spare time. Hence, it is necessary to transform manual farming, which deploys manpower, into mechanised farming, which applies modern techniques without requiring huge considerate manpower. It is one of the work plans adopted by our party.

In summary, the SNDP respects and values the people’s rights to participate, represent, and choose freely, and it is a party committed to working diligently from the people to the people. It aims to reduce the centralized control while establishing an effective administrative mechanism between the central and local levels.

At this juncture in time, when a new chapter in history is about to be written, let us join hands with the SNDP to collectively build a stable, peaceful, and developed union based on democracy and a federal system.
