Thingyan Atat Day in Dawei :Taninthayi Region CM participated in the festival
The Central Pavilion and various departmental pavilions located in front of City Hall 2, near the Bogyoke Equestrian Statue in Dawei organized by the Taninthayi Region Government are crowded with visiting members of the public enjoying the Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival, which includes a Walking Thingyan.
At the departmental pavilions, including the Central Pavilion, visitors are being entertained with songs reflecting Myanmar traditional culture, Yein traditional dance performances, and stage shows.
The public has enthusiastically joined in, happily dancing and celebrating along. Furthermore, as vocalists presented energetic and beautiful dance performances, the audience has shown their strong support by joyfully singing and dancing in unison.
In the April-15 evening, marking the Akyat Day of the Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan, Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo, Region High Court Chief Justice Daw Paik Paik Aye, and region ministers toured the venues to watch and offer encouragement to the performers.
Following this, the Region Chief Minister participated in the Walking Thingyan held along Strand Road, managed by the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs, where he celebrated alongside the public. He sprinkled Atar water on honorable guests and Yein dance troupes using Thabyay (Eugenia) sprigs.
He then observed and encouraged a variety of acts, including, singing and dancing by young Yein dancers and Thingyan Yein troupes, musical performances by famous vocalists and Traditional Dawei Than gyat performances by local youths.
After offering encouragement, the Chief Minister presented the performers with cash of honor. He then delivered Thingyan greetings to the public attending the festival and distributed bottles of soft drinks.
The pavilions remain highly crowded with spectators enjoying the Yein troupes and stage shows. To ensure that the public can peacefully and joyfully participate in the Thingyan festival, security personnel and responsible citizens are actively working together, it’s reported.
