To welcome the Myanmar New Year, ambassadors and diplomats from various countries participated in the Diplomatic Thingyan Festival organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the morning of April 16, the Ambassador of Nepal to Myanmar, ambassadors from Cambodia, Pakistan, Brunei, and Bangladesh, chargés d'affaires, military attachés from military attaché offices, diplomats from United Nations agencies and honorary consulates, along with their family members, departed from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw by special military aircraft. They arrived at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport in the morning, where responsible officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warmly welcomed the ambassadors, officials, and their family members who had come to attend the Diplomatic Thingyan Festival.

Subsequently, the delegation of ambassadors and party proceeded to the Nay Pyi Taw City Development Committee's City Hall Pandal, where they joyfully participated in the traditional Myanmar Maha Thingyan Festival together with the public.

After that, the ambassadors and party continued to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pandal. Diplomats and foreign guests who had come to the Diplomatic Thingyan Festival were hosted with traditional Myanmar foods.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff performed songs and elegant Thingyan Yein dances, and the diplomats and foreign guests happily played Atar water together with the participants.

From there, they went to the Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan and joyfully participated with the public in the Maha Thingyan Atat Day celebrations, it’s learnt.
