In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 6 September 2025 at 9:30 AM, U Thein Tun (58 years old), a 100-household elder, member of the Public Security and Counter-terrorism team and a resident of Ywar Thit Village in Mahlaing Township of Mandalay Region, was shot dead by so-called PDF terrorists. In the incident, when he was returning home from Sal Tho Village and Kan Ywar Village and reached the area between Pwint Taw Village and Kyat Sal Village, approximately 20 so-called PDF Terrorists, who had been waiting for him, opened fire. As a result, U Thein Tun died on the spot, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
